She majored in Malay-Indonesian Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and took part in a language training program (BIPA) at Universitas Indonesia while still an undergraduate. She later received a Master's degree in Southeast Asian Language and Literature from the Graduate School of HUFS and a Master's degree in Social Anthropology from SOAS, University of London.
She previously worked as a research associate at the Korea Culture & Tourism Institute and is now doing research on Southeast Asian culture and languages. Her research interests include Malay-Indonesian cultural studies, translation, tourism, and policy study in the region.
