The Korea-Indonesia Center

About KIC Vision and Mission
The Korea-Indonesia Center was established to contribute to the enhancement of Korea-Indonesia relations, leveraging 60 years of research achievements, educational experience, and expertise accumulated since Indonesian studies began at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in 1964.

As both nations hold significant positions in the international community, their close cooperation must continue for mutual benefit. In this context, our center aims to play a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral relations.

Based on last six decades of experience in the fields of language, culture, and area studies, KIC carries out the following activities to promote research collaboration and facilitate academic and cultural exchanges between Korea and Indonesia.
  • 01 Publication of Indonesia Insight

    Organizing forums with experts to discuss key bilateral issues, providing policy recommendations, and publishing the outcomes.

  • 02 Research Grants for Scholars

    Providing research funding for scholars specializing in Korean or Indonesian studies.

  • 03 Joint Academic Conferences Hosting

    Annual academic conferences in collaboration with domestic and international research institutions on selected themes.

  • 04 Guest Lectures by Experts

    Inviting distinguished experts from Korea and abroad for special lectures.

  • 05 Translation and Interpretation Services

    Offering interpretation services for meetings and events, as well as translation of various documents for businesses and public institutions. Highly skilled interpreters and translators with master's or doctoral degrees in Indonesian language ensure high-quality service.

  • 06 Education, Consulting, and Networking

    Providing language and cultural adaptation training, consulting services, and networking support for businesses and individuals entering the Indonesian market.

  • 07 Collaborative Projects

    Undertaking joint projects with domestic and international companies or research institutions, as well as independent projects.

  • 08 Korea-Indonesia Award

    Recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to Korea-Indonesia relations across various fields.

  • 09 Hallyu Promotion Website

    Operating a website to promote Korean culture and contribute to the spread of Hallyu (Korean Wave).
